Question Does stress have any affect on muscle growth?

Lately I have been under huge amounts of stress. I've noticed my weight has slowly gone down even though I've increased my food intake.
So just wondering how much of a effect stress has on muscle deterioration.

Thanks in advance

I would have to say that stress definitely hurts my muscle growth. Having stress in your life releases the hormone cortisol which will burn muscle and prevent you from gaining as much as you are capable of.
