Smile Rippetoe's Beginner Strength Journal Dec 8 2008

Day 1

I am starting a journal for my first ever workout routine. I will be doing rippeotoe's starting strength routine as seen here.

http://www.fitnessgeneral.com/forum/...ad.php?t=24678

Since I am new to weights, I am going to start out light.

For tonight's lift, I am going to start out with the bar for each exercise and see if I can increase from there.

Excellent choice for a routine. I am interested to see your progress. Good Luck.

So far so good. Started out with a light warmup on the bike. I than started the routine. My weights went as followed.

Squats 3 sets of 5. The 1st set I did the bar and managed an easy 5. I bumped up to 55 and the next 5 reps came easy as well. I got greedy and bumped up to 95 lbs for my last set. This set was a little challenging but I managed just fine.

Bench Press 3 sets of 5. I did 45 lbs, 55 lbs, 65 lbs. I had the shakes for some reason.

Deadlifts. I did 95 on my working set of deadlifts. Was fairly easy.

Updates will be done daily!
