Why not lift? Weightlifting is a major part
of the daily lives of many people. It offers countless benefits
and enables you do develop a day by day schedule which your life
can expand around. Beneficial reasons to adopt a weightlifting routine
include losing fat, gaining muscle, and gaining strength. Lifting
weights will promote the growth of lean muscle and fat loss allowing
your body to develop a physique that anyone would cherish. As your
body develops, your strength will increase as well which in turn
makes daily chores in your everyday life such as carrying a briefcase,
doing yard work, and catering to a high demanding job much easier.
Not only will your muscles get stronger, but your bones, tissues,
tendons and ligaments will adapt as well. These strength gains will
help to decrease your chance of injury and allow you to continue
living a fulfilling, active life as you get older. This decrease
in the risk of injury results from an increase in your balance and
flexibility. Joints and ligaments will become more accustomed to
rotating and contracting through a full range of motion. Sports
athletes will find that they are more explosive and agile than they
have ever been in their whole lives.
As you continue to lift you will begin to feel much better about
yourself and experience a greater sense of self worth and increased
self esteem. You will begin to witness the true potential of your
body. Your motivation will be at an all time high as you reach new
strength goals. You will notice the soothing feeling the intensity
of the weights will give you as all your stress, anxiety, and depression
is released.
There are seemingly no poor reasons for lifting, so the question
may actually best be stated not as “Why lift?” but “Why
not lift?” Lifting will add much needed challenges and interests
to your life. It will increase your physique along with aiding stress
release and promoting self esteem growth. Starting a weightlifting
routine won’t only aid your training life but your life as
a whole as your new found confidence in the gym will encourage confidence
at your job, with your kids, and in your personal life.
